Service Description
Relationships are the foundation of our lives. Drawing on the wisdom of teachers such as Eti Gofer and Yemima Avital, we will explore ways of shifting and managing our energy when connecting—with ourselves, with those close to us, and with the Divine. Specifically in this seven-class series will take us through texts written by remarkable women for the inner work of fall - the Jewish time of renewal. Course Outline Week 1: Standing in the Gate; The gate is a place of transition, of transformation. Elul is a gate for the new year. A time of transformation between years, and in this time there is a potential to connect deep to me, and let go of what I don't need anymore. Week 2: Elul Time of questions; Often Elul is described as a time of repentance - in Hebrew Teshuva, which also means in Hebrew - answer. Yemima teaches, Elul is a time for questions - not for answering was I good or not, but of asking - who do I want and need to be? Week 3: Making mistakes In Elul it's customary to confess our sins and remorse our mistakes, however, Yemima teaches that mistakes are essential for the journey. Week 4: A new Year Entering the New year - entering a rebirth. The motifs of birth in the Rosh HaShana liturgy are multiple, and it can give us important insights as for the processes we hope to go through. Week 5: "The mouth’s focus advances the purity of the nefesh (emotions)" A new way to do Viduy. Week 6: Joy - the Joyous heart is quiet - a feminine prep for the holiday of Sukot. Week 7: Prayer and Generativity; The prayer is the wind in the sails of action. These classes are for anyone who is seeking deeper, healthier relationships to themselves, their loved ones and to jewish time—It can be especially good for those feeling overextended, unseen, or craving more balance with self and others.
